Urban planning of Syrian refugee camp

With a population of 80.000 refugees, Al Za’atari is one of the largest Syrian refugee camps in Northern Jordan. The size of the camp poses massive challenges for the government of the region Mafraq and for Amman. The municipality of Amsterdam is giving Al Za’atari a helping hand for already two years now, both practical and on the drawing board. Amsterdam asked us to write an easy to read book/brochure on the urban planning of this camp. This book is now published and we are very proud with the result! I myself was the editor, EdenFrost helped with the translation, and Vanessa Rutgers was responsible for the graphic design.
